Weekend Workshop - April 12-13
Discover the delicate art of sculpture as you bring animal forms to life in this hands-on workshop. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner, this class will guide you through the process of creating expressive and detailed animal head using the versatile medium of clay. Throughout the workshop, you'll explore the unique qualities of clay. We will lead you through the step-by-step process of sculpting an animal figure, focusing on anatomy, gesture, and expression to capture the essence of your chosen creature.
What You Will Learn:
Basic clay handling techniques and tools
How to sculpt realistic or stylized animal features including eyes, mouth and noses as well as how to caputre expression/emotion.
Techniques for adding fine details, texture, and surface finishing to enhance your sculpture
How to build solid, hollow out and reattach properly
Please bring three (3) different animal photo references and your instructor will choose which one best fits the workshop. Also bring multiple different photo references to work from (profile, straight-on , and some detailed close ups). Printed images are preferred.
