Weekend Hand Building Workshop - May 17-18
Day 1 Handbuilding:
Ashley will introduce hand building techniques she uses to create her work--coiling, pinching and slab construction. She will deomonstrate a variety of forms (cups and mugs, plates, vases and baskets) in the morning. Then continue building using pinching and coiling.
Day 2 Finishing and Embellishing:
Assembling all together on the second day! She will discuss and demonstrate the different surface embellishments she us to enrich the surface. She will cover sgrafitto, inlaying and paper resist with a combination of colored slips and underglazes.
